Drone/UAS Regulations

BCAA would like to bring to the General Public’s Notice (both national and international) on the regulations of unmanned drones/UAS in Bhutan Airspace. Attached is the Regulations and Forward from BCAA.

Opening of Bids for Air Ticket for Myanmar and Mongolia Postponed

BCAA regrets to inform the concerned Air Ticketing Agents who have submitted the bids for Air Ticket for Myanmar and Mongolia scheduled to be opened on 19th May 2017 at 2.30 pm has been postponed to 23rd May 2017 (since there is ample time for the scheduled flight to be taken) due to the absence of some Tender Committee members.

Inconvenience caused thereof is highly regretted and the result of the bid opening will be informed accordingly by phone or by email to the bidders on or after 23rd May 2017.

However, no more bids shall be accepted for the same.




Notification On The Prohibition of Drone/UAS in Bhutan

This is to notify as per the section 144-146 of the Civil Aviation Act of Bhutan 2016, flying of unauthorized drone/UAS in the Country is strictly prohibited.

Therefore, the Bhutan Civil Aviation Authority hereby notify the general public and visitors to kindly note and abide by this notification.

In the event, any unauthorized drones are seized, it shall be dealt as per the Civil Aviation Act of Bhutan 2016.

Order issued : BCAA/Legal/12/2016-2017/220 dated 24/03/2017 of The Director General, Bhutan Civil Aviation Authority. 




Notification on Membership to International Organizations

This is circulated for strict compliance by all sector.



Temporary Announcement of Drones Operation Prohibition

Bhutan Civil Aviation Authority (BCAA), MoIC would like to notify the general public that the operation of Drones in and around Paro and Thimphu region is prohibited from 18th April to 20th April 2017. This notification also applies to those operators that have been authorized by the Authority for operation in the past.

Therefore, all concerned are requested to kindly note this notification and comply strictly.
